Action in Mind - A Neural Network Approach to Action Recognition & Segmentation
Barrel AI Monkeys community is honored to have Dr. Zahra Gharaee as a speaker of the evening. Zahra holds a PhD in Cognitive Science at Lund university, a M.Sc in Mechatronics and a Bachelor in Electrical Control Engineering and will have a presentation for us about her: 1) PhD - Perception and action recognition in human-robot interaction 2) M.Sc -Research about an intelligent agent that learn the attention control and state estimation to improve its performance for driving task.
This is Zahras own presentation description:
Recognizing and categorizing human actions is an important task with applications in various fields such as human-robot interaction, video analysis, surveillance, video retrieval, health care system and entertainment industry. I will present a novel computational approach for human action recognition through different implementations of multi-layer architectures based on artificial neural networks. Each system level development is designed to solve different aspects of the action recognition problem including online realtime processing, action segmentation and the involvement of objects.
